PE - Statement of Intent
At Brindle Gregson Lane, we encourage children to lead healthy lifestyles and see this as a key priority. BGL’s PE sessions are active and creative to promote the core skills needed to be successful in PE and sport. The lessons are delivered in a structured and progressive style to ensure children develop their skills as they progress through our school. We provide an inclusive PE curriculum where children of all abilities feel included, challenged, valued and have the confidence to succeed in PE and sport. BGL offers an array of competitive opportunities within lessons, extra-curricular clubs, and external competitions. We work closely with our own sports council to gage what our children want in their learning. We feel this allows us to engage all of our children as they’ve had a say in their learning.
Our teaching allows children to:
- Develop their skill set in a extensive range of physical activities
- Be physically active for sustained periods of time
- Engage in a variety of activities and competitive opportunities
- Lead more healthy, active lifestyles.
